TEKEVER AR5 drone successfully deployed using government SES pooling and sharing system
Tekever and Get SAT collaborated on the ESA PACIS-1 project led by SES, designed to secure communication services to governments and organizations through pooling and sharing.

Tekever, a global aerospace and defense company, announced the successful deployment of the Tekever UAV AR5 to the west coast of Portugal, using satellite communication services developed under the European Space Agency program (ESA) aimed at developing pooling and sharing systems. Called PACIS-1, the project was deployed by the consortium led by SES’s wholly-owned subsidiary, SES Techcom.
SES Techcom’s ISR demonstration in Portugal was made possible by the company’s high-performance managed satellite communications service, which seamlessly integrated the capabilities of ecosystem partners. As part of the demonstration, Get SAT’s innovative multi-orbit terminal supported the mission requirements necessary for a low SWaP (size, weight and power) to complete the mission. Once in flight, the terminal was activated for the Beyond Radio Line of Sight mission, with SES’s ubiquitous coverage via satcom providing connectivity for the flight. Tekever’s AR5 UAV broadcast live HD video and collected data from the Maritime Moving Target Indicator (MMTI), video footage, and electro-optical / infrared (EO / IR) elements.

The PACIS-1 project hinges on Tekever’s European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) contract to establish Europe’s first commercial maritime surveillance and unmanned environmental surveillance services, which could represent up to to 77 million euros. The solution is used to monitor trafficking, illegal migration and IUU fishing (illegal, unreported and unregulated).
